COURTNEY HAWKINS | actress

I’m an actress, writer, and director - I’ve written one feature (a female ensemble horror comedy/creature feature, currently in development) and several shorts, most of which I co-directed with my crazy-talented German husband.

I worked as an acting teacher and audition coach at John Rosenfeld Studios in Los Angeles, a phenomenally supportive place to study, and now I stay busy with commercials, some fun TV/movie stuff, writing, and keeping our gorgeous baby daughter alive and smiling.

As an actress, I’d love to travel the same path as some of my heroes, Amy Poehler, Leslie Mann, Catherine O’Hara, and Frances McDormand, all powerfully funny women with a broad range of superpowers. And as a writer/director, I aspire to make compelling contributions to commercial genres like Mike Flanagan and Kate Siegel (“Hush”) and Fede Alvarez (“Don’t Breathe”). I also get really excited by movies that explore difficult subjects in a raw and hilarious way, so I’m a massive fan of Gillian Robespierre (“Obvious Child,” “Landline”) and Greta Gerwig (“Frances Ha,” “Lady Bird”).
